The Live Free Detroit Coalition is looking for fellows! We are a coalition of organizations, individuals and institutions working to advance a collective LIVE FREE agenda to address issues of violence, criminalization and criminal justice reform. Core components of this collaborative are to:
1.) Convene the sector of grassroots leaders working to reduce violence, criminalization and impact criminal justice reform;
2.) Support leaders with resources and support to build their capacity and successfully lead advocacy efforts to address LIVE FREE related agendas;
3.) Implement a collective strategy for advancing a LIVE FREE strategy in key Detroit neighborhoods and schools; and
Collectively fundraise to support grassroots organizing efforts.
Fellows should expect to commit 10-15 hours per week. Expectations include attendance at bi-weekly meetings, work collaboratively on a project, attend trainings and community meetings, and there may be some limited travel opportunities. There is a monthly stipend.
Fellows will engage in project based learning to refine nonprofit leadership skills, organizing basics & fundraising fundamentals. Fellows will apply that knowledge to the Detroit landscape and work towards creating a freer, safer Detroit.
