Join us for Round II! Bikes Barrels & Books was a blast last year and we’re excited to have the event again in 2019!
We are developing more programming and hope to expand our number of vendors this year. Artists will be creating murals on rain barrels in response to poems created by the community from April through July. These barrels will be displayed during the fair and some of them will raffled off during the event as well. A bike ride is being planned for the morning to explore Jewish Detroit that emerged into Black Detroit in the North End neighborhood. An open mic will showcase the talent of youth in the area and be themed around our fair: Bikes Barrels & Books 🙂
Vendors forms are now available! We are looking for organizations to share information, artists to display art, and vendors with a variety of products to have on display for the event. We are prioritizing organizations, businesses and table displays that are connected with mobility, sustainability or literacy resources and products. *Be on the lookout for a set up of poetry/creative writing workshops connected to the fair starting in June. A schedule of the writing workshops will be shared soon.
Asylum Arts is one of the sponsors of the event this year, so a huge thank you to them!
Be sure to save the date: August 10th on your calendars!
