Kadiri Sennefer Ra Compost Fellowship

The KAD Compost Fellowship is named is in honor of Detroit Ancestor Kadiri Sennefer Ra. When Kadiri walked this earth, he served as farmer and compost manager at D-Town Farms. The KAD Compost Fellows will learn about the end of life cycle of food, learn to make and manage compost bins and operations. And learn how use this natural fertilizer to support the growth of food at KAN Farms, D-Town Farms, gardens at Timbuktu Academy, Shrine of the Black Madonna and possibly other gardens and farms in Detroit.

The fellows will also be tasked to contribute to a mixtape that speaks to the soil, farming, black self-determination and food.

The fellowship is for 6 weeks in the summer and for young people ages 14-24. For more information or to apply please email jtata@knowallegiance.org.
