Farm Assistant at Fields of Plenty
Wage: $13/hr
Hours: 23 per week to start- strong possibility of more as the season goes on
Schedule: Must be available Tuesday and Friday 8 AM until 1 PM June through October- flexible otherwise
Season: Immediately through end of October
Duties:
- Assist with harvest on Tuesday and Friday mornings
- Occasionally deliver produce to nearby market
- Occasionally take produce to neighborhood market and providing customer service at the market
- Assist with farm work including but not limited to: weeding, trellising, prepping planting beds, planting vegetables
- Assist with small infrastructure projects which may include using hand held power tools
- Assist with property upkeep including but not limited to picking up trash, mowing grass, and keeping brush trimmed
- Assist with maintaining equipment and supplies, including but not limited to washing out harvest bins, cleaning and organizing tools
Requirements:
- Available Tuesday and Friday 8 AM until 1 PM June through October
- Very reliable- must show up on time- will need at least one strong reference
- Self directed- must be able to self-supervise part of the time
- Must be able to lift 20+ pounds and do physical work for several hours outside in all sorts of weather
Preferred skills:
- Experience with farming and/or gardening, especially harvest skills
- Customer service experience, especially at farmers market or similar
- Basic carpentry skills
